The 2013 Bonny Doon Art & Wine Festival, offering a variety of food from restaurants and vendors plus wine, beer, music, and art, takes place on Sat June 22, 2013 from 1-6p.m.

The 21-and-over event, held at Vigné Farms Equestrian Park, raises funds to support the art, science, and music programs for the children of Bonny Doon School. The $50 all-inclusive ticket to the 11th Annual Bonny Doon Art and Wine Festival includes food, wine, beer, music, live and silent auctions, and artist demonstrations (selected artwork will be available for purchase). The event is run by volunteers so 100% of the proceeds go to Bonny Doon Elementary School. Last year more than $29,000 was raised! Visit event site for more details.

I recently had the opportunity to taste chocolate chip cookies from Sweet Cheeks Santa Cruz, one of the food vendors participating in this year’s festival. These cookies were very moist and quite delicious, and I never would have guessed that—like all Sweet Cheeks products—they are gluten-free! Sweet Cheeks owner Rose Calucchia is excited to be at the event with her chocolate chip cookies, double chocolate chunk cookies, and lemon pound cake. Read more about Rose and her sweet company and see photos of all the treats, including cupcakes and pies, at the Sweet Cheeks web site.
