Photo credit:  Chris Schmauch<\/p><\/div>This year\u2019s list of the world\u2019s best 50 restaurants was announced a week ago, and Los Gatos restaurant Manresa has made the list!<\/p>\n<p>Chef\/owner David Kinch is a world-renowned chef whose accolades include Michelin stars, many James Beard awards and nominations, and being crowned champion on an episode of Iron Chef. For more on the talented Kinch, a Santa Cruz resident, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/restaurant-in-san-jose\/interview-with-chef-david-kinch-of-manresa-restaurant-los-gatos-part-one-of-three\">read my interview<\/a> on Examiner.com. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.manresarestaurant.com\/\">Manresa<\/a> hasn\u2019t made <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theworlds50best.com\/\">this list<\/a> \u2013 which is based on opinions from 800 international restaurant industry experts \u2013 since 2006. This year, it\u2019s number 48 on the list. The only other California restaurant on this global list is Thomas Keller\u2019s Yountville restaurant The French Laundry (number 43). Copenhagen\u2019s Noma is number one for the third consecutive year. The list is compiled by England\u2019s Restaurant magazine. The US has eight restaurants in the top 50, while England has three (with two in London \u2013 two is the same number that Mexico City, San Sebasti\u00e1n, Stockholm and Tokyo have). Other interesting facts: New York and Paris each have five restaurants, and Heston Blumenthal&#8217;s restaurant Dinner \u2013 which only opened in February 2011 \u2013 is this year&#8217;s highest debut, entering the list for the first time at number 9.<\/p>\n<p>Manresa is located at 320 Village Lane in Los Gatos; for reservations call (408) 354-4330.<\/p>\n<p>On Twitter?
