The UCSC Farm & Garden Market Cart has opened for the summer season<\/p><\/div>The UCSC Farm and Garden Market Cart launched its annual season on June 1, 2012 with a variety of organic vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers. You can find the cart every Tuesday and Friday through October 30, from 12-6 p.m. at the base of the UCSC campus, on the corner of Bay and High Streets. The cart is operated by CASFS<\/a> (The Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems).<\/p>\n

Selections will vary as the farm season changes, but early-season offerings include strawberries, blueberries, tender lettuces, and other greens. Later in the season, available items will include sweet corn, dry-farmed tomatoes, plums, potatoes, sweet and hot peppers, and basil.<\/p>\n

All items are grown at the UCSC Farm and Garden by staff and students in the Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture training program, and all proceeds benefit the Apprenticeship program<\/a>. For more information contact (831) 459-3240 or casfs@ucsc.edu. <\/p>\n
