Where to dine on Easter in Santa Cruz and nearby: Restaurants with special menus, Part 1

Cetrella in Half Moon Bay

It’s Easter 2011 already and if you haven’t made plans for dining out next Sunday, April 24, here are some restaurants in the Santa Cruz area and Half Moon Bay offering special menus. I’ll post more in the next couple days.

Santa Cruz & Aptos Restaurants

Ma Maison Restaurant

Ma Maison in Aptos is offering an Easter brunch buffet from 10am-2pm for $25 per person, prepared by the very talented Chef Lionel Le Morvan, a Paris native. For reservations call (831) 688-5566. The French Easter buffet includes smoked salmon, asparagus “mimosas,” “Eggs Cocotte à la Crème” with spring morel mushrooms, French Toulouse sausage and sautéed onions, Easter Ham with port wine sauce, grilled butterflied leg of lamb, Pain Perdu (Cinnamon French Toast), and seasonal fruit salad.

Johnny’s Harborside

Santa Cruz restaurant Johnny’s Harborside is offering special Easter dishes for brunch in addition to its regular menu. Easter brunch specials include classic frittata with apple fennel sausage, Dungeness crab and asparagus omelet with choice of roasted potatoes, hash browns, fruit, or polenta, and stuffed French toast with bananas, sweet cream cheese, blueberry coulis and a side of bacon, and steak and eggs. Davenport Roadhouse

Davenport Roadhouse is serving Easter brunch in addition to its regular menu. Brunch specials include crab benedict, chicken pot pie, and French Toast with banana, mascarpone, and orange zest. For more information call (831) 426-8801.

Severino’s

Aptos restaurant Severino’s is offering an Easter brunch buffet from 10am-2pm for $27.99 (adults) and $12.99 (kids). Selections include Black Angus prime rib, an omelet bar and waffle station, eggs benedict, honey glazed ham, several salads, and chocolate fondue. Call (831) 688-8987 for reservations.

Half Moon Bay

Cetrella

I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant, and it’s a beautiful drive from Santa Cruz. Cetrella is offering a three-course prix fixe Easter brunch from 10:30am-2:30pm for $40. Reservations are recommended; call (650) 726-4090. For each course, guests choose one selection. First course choices are Cheddar-Cauliflower Soup with cheddar biscuits and chive oil or Beet Salad with yuzu vinaigrette, mache, citrus, and puffed faro cracker. Second course choices include slow roasted Leg of Lamb with mint-garlic jam, Manchurian beans and pea tendrils, and Arctic Char with sunchoke puree, leek terrine, and preserved lemon. Desserts include Carrot Cake with crème fraiche ice cream.
